Preliminary Work: Front Page and Content Page

How does your prelim represent particular social groups?
My magazine is aimed at students who take or enjoy music and/or media, so it would appeal more to that particular social group. It represents them as the contents is based on latest information related to music or media within the school, so if other people come across the magazine they would get a insight into these social groups. I relate it more to our generation by mentioning the XFactor and how someone from the school has entered and gone through to boot-camp, this might catch the audiences eye and make them want to read more about this person. Representing this type of group to be cool and interesting as in connects with the latest drama happening in the music industry which a lot of students keep up to date with.

Who would be the intended audience for your product?
I would aim my magazine at students who take or enjoy media and/or music, the name of the magazine implies this as it is called 'Indie' which is a type of music genre and is a clothing style often referred to through teenagers. This is then backup by the sub-header as it mentions music, media and style, allowing the audience to know the contents of the magazine.

How did you attract/address your audience?
I attract the audience by using the XFactor to draw in people who are interested in music and television industry and wanting to know the latest thing that's going on. I did this to try and make the audience keen and interested with finding out about this certain student who they may have heard of within their school that could become famous or well known.

What have you learnt about technologies from the process of construction the product?
Once you know how to use certain tools you can get on with using Photoshop quite well but when it comes to learning what different icons mean it can get a bit complicated. I also found the style of Photoshop I was using to be slightly different to a version i've used before, making it complicated for me when I had to work around it and learn how to do it a different way. I do find it interesting and fun to use as it provides you with so many different ways of making or altering something.
